The Reflections Program is a National PTA and WSPTA cultural arts competition. The purpose is to provide an opportunity for students to express themselves through their own original works.

Each year, a theme is presented by WSPTA. Students submit an original art entry in any of six arts areas: Visual Arts Photography, Literature, Music, Dance, and Film. Student works are critiqued against others in the same grade division and age. Entries are first judged at the local level and selected works are chosen to represent the PTA at each subsequent level. Once entries reach state-level, the state PTA may select one entry (Outstanding Interpretation Award) per grade division, per arts category (a total of 30) to submit to the National PTA. National first, second, and third place, and honorable mention entries are recognized at the National PTA Annual Convention.

Visit WSPTA Reflections page for more information. https://www.wastatepta.org/events-programs/reflections/

When:
In October

Tillicum's Pass-the-Hat Fundraiser is only one of two fundraisers during the year. The funds are used to provide extra programs and classroom support for teachers. During the week of fundraising, special prizes are given when a goal is reached.

* Homeroom with highest participation receives a doughnut party.
* If $12,000 is raised, music is played over the intercom in-between classes on a designated day.
* If the super goal of $15,000 is raised, students get to pick the Principal's costume to wear on a designated day.

Forms will be handed out to students during fundraising week. You may also
donate online at tillicumpta.org - in the menu at the far left, choose About Us > Donate.
Box Tops/Labels for Education

Clipping and submitting your Box Tops and Labels for Education means REAL $$$ for our school!

Check out this VIDEO and send yours in today! Have your student look for the collection box in the office!

Last year we were able to collect - Nearly $370!

If every student could submit just 10 Box Tops this year - our earnings would reach $660! Double that number to 20 a student and we'd be at $1,320! Let's join together and do it!

Consider asking family and friends to clip these incentives, too! We collect all year long, but our first submission date is November 1st, so clear out those piles you may have set to the side this summer and we can mail in the LARGEST submission yet!

Thanks for partnering to make this year's collection a HUGE success!

Emotional Coaching – The Heart of Parenting - 2 night presentation

Successful parenting begins in your heart, and then continues on a moment-to-moment basis by engaging your children when feelings run high, when they are sad, angry or scared. The heart of parenting is being there in a particular way when it really counts. This presentation by the Gottman Research institute shows that Emotion Coached children perform better, have fewer behavioral problems, are more resilient, are more emotionally stable, can focus attention and motivate themselves.
