The Tillicum PTA hopes your school year has gotten off to a great start.  Our fundraising campaign, Pass the Hat, started at Curriculum Night and we are still collecting donations. Our goal is to raise $10,000 this Fall.  We are off to an okay start –74 families have donated $4725. This is only 47% of the way to our goal of $10,000. We can do better!

The PTA tried to send a flyer home via students before Curriculum Night.  However, due to a comedy of errors, you likely didn’t receive it. If you have already donated to Pass the Hat, thank you! If not, please join us by participating in what we are now calling ‘Pass the Hat 2.0’.

To donate ONLINE, please select "Pass the Hat Donations" on the left side of the website and follow the directions.  Consider adding a PTA membership to join the PTA and help decide how your donations will be used this year to support our students and teachers.  Donations are tax-deductible, and many companies will also match your donations

 Questions you might have:

·          My student just participated in the Cookie Dough/Magazine Fundraiser.  Why do I need to participate in Pass the Hat? Great question! The Cookie Dough/Magazine Fundraiser is a Tillicum ASB Fundraiser run by the school. Tillicum PTA receives 40% of the Cookie Dough/Magazine sales proceeds, but that income is not large enough to fund the PTA’s budget. The Tillicum PTA holds 2 major fund raisers each year: Pass the Hat in the Fall, and Walk-a-Fun in the Spring.

·          What does my donation go towards? A large portion of our budget is for Teacher/Staff grants to support learning. In the past, funds have: helped send our music groups on field trips and to competitions, paid for classroom equipment such as new microscopes and video cameras, provided books and periodicals for the library in both English and Spanish, sponsored a pilot Mindfulness Program, and brought in guest speakers for English and Social Studies and much more.

The Tillicum PTA thanks you for your support—every penny helps!

Sincerely,

Your Tillicum PTA Board
